What actually moves the number
- Slab prep. Diamond grinding versus acid etching is the single biggest fork in the quote. Grinding opens the concrete so the coating bonds mechanically. Etching is faster, cheaper, and the reason peeling floors exist.
- Moisture. Chattanooga humidity and slabs poured without a vapor barrier push moisture up through the concrete. Vapor pressure will lift a coating off a floor that looked bone dry when it was applied, so a moisture test before quoting is not optional padding.
